Creating unique, personalised pet portraits is a specialty of mine. Being an avid animal lover and pet owner myself, I understand the special connection we develop with our pets, and I put special care into capturing the individual expression of each animal so you know you’re looking at a bespoke piece, and you can see your best friend looking back at you.

Custom pet portraits make great gifts for pet owners, but they also make a lovely memorial keepsake for those who have lost someone special. Names can also be added at no extra cost.

Artwork Specifications:

I offer a few variations with my pet portraits regarding size, background, number of pets, and which medium (i.e. watercolour, coloured pencil or graphite pencil), and will have a price/ordering guide here on the website soon, but in the meantime please contact me for queries, or you can order directly from my Etsy store through the link below. Most portraits show the animal’s head and some of the chest, but if you would like a full body portrait, please let me know when you send your reference photo/s.

Reference Photographs:

I will generally need a good quality photograph to complete the portrait, due the high level of detail I put into the artwork. Generally, the better the photograph supplied, the more accurate I can be with the individual expression and colouring of the pet/s. It is best if your pet is not photographed too close to the camera – the lens can distort the proportions of the pet, which will not translate well into a portrait. If you’re unsure if you have a suitable image, I may be able to improvise if you have several images I can use as reference – please contact me if you have any queries about your photographs and I can advise further.

Timeframe:

Due to the hand-drawn, detailed nature of these artworks, please allow up to 6 weeks for the artwork to be completed. Most portraits are completed sooner, however during peak periods there may be a longer turnaround, and I will never ‘rush’ artwork because I take special care to ensure a high quality piece every time. If you require your portrait for any specific date, e.g. for a birthday gift, I can be flexible, so please let me know and I will confirm if that date can be met and will ensure I keep that date in mind when considering shipping timeframes. If you need your artwork in a hurry, I can offer a Priority Fee which can fast-track your artwork, however this can still be somewhat dependent on my existing priorities so please contact me if you need the artwork more urgently.

Materials:

I complete all artwork using professional artists’ grade materials and high-quality watercolour paper (minimum 220gsm).

Postage:

Postage/packaging is included in all custom portrait orders. I take extreme care when packing and sending artworks; artworks are placed in an acid-free, clear sleeve with a cardboard backing for protection, and sent with a rigid mailing box with a tracking number. Artworks larger than A4 will generally be sent rolled in a tube mailer. At this stage, unfortunately I do not offer framing options or framing mats, but I strongly advise to frame the image using only acid-free photo mounts if any adhesive mounts are being used, as these will help protect the artwork from damage over time. Framing is a personal choice, however my preference is to use a simple white frame with a framing mat board, as it doesn’t clash with the colours and ‘temperature’ of the artwork, and avoids detracting attention from the subject.

Cancellations/Returns Policy:

Please contact me within 24 hours of purchase to request a cancellation. I do not accept returns or exchanges, however please contact me if you have any problems with your order.

Thank you for your interest in my art – please don’t hesitate to contact me for any queries.
